The new standard for fire detection, warning, control and intercom systems. This industry update will detail major changes in the design, installation, commissioning and certification of fire detection systems including smoke control. As AS1670.1:2015 is a primary reference Standard within the National Construction Code - Building Code of Australia 2016. The 2015 release is the first in over a decade. It not only addresses known short comings of the 2004 revision such as fire rating and speech intelligibility, it also brings the Standard to a contemporary level to improve readability and application. Significant changes have been made to simplify the use of the Standard therby making system design and compliance easier to achieve and verify. As AS1670.1-2015 better defines the roles and responsibilities of the system designer, installer and commissioning agent making performance and compliance validation easier.
