The seminar series will provide detailed information on section 1 of AS 1851 – routine service of fire protection systems and equipment.
This will be a half-day seminar.
The routine maintenance of fire protection systems and equipment is critical to ensure that the fire protection systems and equipment are achieving a standard of performance to which they were designed. Section 1 of AS 1851 outlines the ‘overarching requirements’ that are important to understand before undertaking any maintenance of fire protection equipment or systems.
The aim of these seminars will be to inform and educate attendees about the key components of section 1 including:
- The definition of a competent person and why this is important.
- An overview of baseline data and FPA Australia’s Baseline Data Good Practice Guide.
- Routine service records including logbooks, tags and labels and record retention.
- Frequency and tolerances of routine service intervals.
- Local State and Territory arrangements relating to AS 1851.
- The importance of accreditation schemes for fire protection practitioners.
- Question and answer forum
