Fire Australia + HazMat 2016 - The Biggest Ever

Over May 4 & 5 fire protection, hazardous materials and building and construction professionals descended on the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre for the largest industry event in the southern hemisphere – Fire Australia + HazMat.

Over the two days we saw more than 1000 people visit the near 100 exhibition booths or hear from some of the 60 incredible speakers from Australia and overseas.

The conference and tradeshow was the largest ever with more conference streams and a bigger tradeshow than ever before.

More Than $16,000 Raised For The Fiona Wood Foundation

FPA Australia would like to thank everyone who attended this year's Charity Dinner at the MCG, or who donated directly to the Fiona Wood Foundation.

We are very pleased to announce that, thanks to your generous donations, the Association raised more than $16,000 towards this fantastic cause.

The Association would like to warmly thank everyone who donated and also to the Dinner Sponsor Chubb who again made the charity event possible through their generous and valued sponsorship.

Tyco and Flamestop Australia Take Out Exhibition Awards

At the conclusion of Fire Australia + HazMat 2016, FPA Australia CEO Scott Williams formally closed the event with some acknowledgements, awards and a short introduction about the 2017 event (which you can check out here).

Two important Awards were presented, the People's Choice award for Best Exhibit, which was won by Tyco Fire Protection Products, and the Overall Best Exhibit award, which was won by Flamestop Australia.

FPA Australia is extremely pleased to announce that Wormald, as well as co-owned company National Fire Solutions, have committed to accrediting all of their inspect and test technicians under the Association's Fire Protection Accreditation Scheme (FPAS) as well as moving both businesses towards FPAS Recognised Business status.

The move will mean over 600 technicians around the country will soon gain accreditation and it reinforces Wormald and National Fire Solution's position as industry leading fire protection businesses committed to ensuring their technicians receive professional recognition for their training and competency.
