FPA Australia Reminds Industry of Carbon Pricing Changes

Fire Protection Association Australia
(FPA Australia) is remindi
ng industry stakeholders about the important changes to the import and sale of hydroflurocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs) and sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) that have taken effect as of July 1, 2012 as part of the Australian Government's Clean Energy Future Plan.

The amendments to legislation include the introduction of a carbon charge component, based on an equivalent carbon price, on synthetic greenhouse gases or equipment containing these gases that are either imported or manufactured in Australia. This is in addition to the existing administrative levy.
The amendments have also expanded the definition of synthetic greenhouse gases to include SF6.

To improve the level of understanding, FPA Australia will be hosting a national seminar series specific to carbon pricing, including its impacts and opportunities for industry stakeholders.

These free seminars will be held in Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane from 25 July – 10 August 2012. For more information and to register visit www.fpaa.com.au/events To register for the seminars online visit connect.fpaa.com.au
