'FireSignals' announced as new name of FPA Australia e-newsletter
FireSignals is the winning entry of FPA Australia’s e-newsletter naming competition, replacing FireWire as the title of the association’s first ever electronic communication.
It was decided to change the name of FireWire due to a clash with one of our members current newsletters, and we handed it over to you to come up with the new title.
Alex de Waal of First 5 Minutes, a Corporate Platinum member of FPA Australia, has picked up the free Village Cinema Gold Class double pass for suggesting FireSignals.
FireSignals will continue to be sent out on a fortnightly basis, aimed at more frequently keeping you informed of news from within the fire protection industry and other information that may be of interest.
Meanwhile, FPA Australia would like to remind members that if you are performing or supervising fire protection work in Queensland, you are required to hold an Occupational Licence.
To determine if you require a licence, phone the Queensland Building Services Authority on 1300 272 272 or visit www.bsa.qld.gov.au
FPA Australia can help assist you to obtain units of competency or qualifications for certain licences, for more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Even if do not reside in Queensland, but are contracted to perform work in the state, you still need to hold the relevant licence.
Finally, If there is anything you would like to see in FireSignals, please contact Mark Murray, FPA Australia Communications Coordinator, at email@example.com

|Exhibition booths at Fire Australia 2010 almost full |
Only a small number of exhibition booths remain available at the Fire Australia 2010 Conference & Exhibition.
Exhibitors at the largest fire safety convention on the Australian calendar can expect to benefit enormously from having their business present over the three day event, to be held on the Gold Coast from November 10-12.
We were recently successful in expanding the exhibition to include extra booths, with one 3x3metre booth and a handful of 2x2metre booths still available.
The smaller booths offer a very competitive price to attract those wishing to have a presence without necessarily displaying large products. Click on the 'Read More' link for more information and to be directed to the Fire Australia 2010 website.
