Transitional and Trainee Inspect and Test Accreditation Application Form

Thank you for starting your application for FPAS Transitional and/or Trainee Accreditation.

Please read the Terms & Conditions carefully before completing the application form.
When completing the application form, please read through each section carefully, fill in all necessary information and upload any required soft copies of documents and your photo.

A $220.00 (inclusive of GST) fee applies for the FPAS Inspect & Test class of accreditation. This covers a two (2) year accreditation period.
You may be eligible for a fee waiver if you are a holder of a current QBCC: Fire Protection Occupational Licence covering Inspect & Test activity. 

Transitional Accreditation is for individuals who have relevant work experience over the last three (3) years in the categories of Inspect and Test work they perform within the fire protection industry. The applicant commits to transition to FPAS Qualified Accreditation by completing the relevant units of competency within the required time frame. Please refer to the Inspect & Test Transitional Accreditation FACT SHEET.

Trainee Accreditation is for individuals who commit to working under direct supervision of an FPAS accredited individual for the first three (3) months of gaining Trainee Accreditation and then under indirect supervision of an FPAS accredited individual, holding either Qualified or Transitional Accreditation in the same category(s). The applicant commits to transition to FPAS Qualified Accreditation, by completing the relevant units of competency within the required time frame. Please refer to the Inspect & Test Trainee Accreditation FACT SHEET.

Pleas Note: if you have completed the required units of competency for one or more categories of inspect and test accreditation for which you are applying, please be sure to attach a Certified copy of your statements of attainment (statements of attainment issued by FPA Australia will not need to be certified). FPA Australia staff will process any selected categories as Qualified where eligible. Please refer to the Inspect & Test Qualified Accreditation FACT SHEET for more details.

Inspect & Test Categories 
The Scheme focuses on ten (10) categories of inspect and test work available under 'Inspect & Test' accreditation, as per table below.

The table also reflects the frequencies for Inspect & Test work activities based on AS1851-2012.  It will assist you in identifying whether you apply for Routine (R) or Complex (C) level based upon your experience.

Routine Level (R) accreditation is for activities conducted up to and including six (6) monthly as described in AS1851-2012.
Complex Level (C) accreditation includes those activities for Routine Level (R), and other activities conducted annually as described in AS1851-2012.
